This followed a six-month period of gradually deteriorating vision and was precipitated by the debulking of a large optic nerve glioma. Although visual hallucinations are well recognised in adults with visual loss, secondary to both ophthalmological and neurological causes, they have not been reported in young children. Cela survint après une période de perte partielle de la vision de six mois et une aggravation après ablation d'un gliome de nerf optique. Les hallucinations visuelles après perte visuelle, sccondaire à des causes ophtalmologiques ou neurologiques, sont bien connues chez l'adulte mais n'avaient pas encore été décrites chez le jeune enfant. Dies trat nach einer Zeitspanne von seche Monaten auf, in der sich das Sehvermögen nach und nach verschlechtert hatte, und war bedingr durch ein großes Gliom des N. opticus. Obwohl visuelle Halluzinationen bei Erwachsenen mit Sehverlust sowohl aufgrund ophthalmoligscher als auch neurologischer Ursachen gut bekannt sind, sind sie bei Kindern noch nicht beschrieben worden. RESUMEN Alucinaciones visuales después de la pérdida de la visión en un niño pequeño Un muchacho de cuatro años de edad, una semana despues de quedar totalmente ciego, sufrió unas alucinaciones visuales complejas consistentes en figuras móviles, animales y otros objetos familiares. Esto occurió después de un periodo de deterioración gradual de la visión y se precipitó por el crecimiento de un gran glioma del nervio óptico.
