• W1997996770 abstract "컴퓨터와 초고속 인터넷 사용이 보편화된 요즘 비디오게 임은 이미 젊은층에게는 일상생활의 한 부분이 되어버렸다. 1998년 9월 공개된 리니지를 통하여 우리나라는 온라인 게 임 강국의 발을 내디뎠으며, 대한민국 게임백서에 의하면 국내 게임 시장의 규모는 온라인 게임이 단연 압도적이다. 각종 해외보고서에 따르면 대한민국의 온라인 게임 매출은 2012년 현재, 10조 원으로 글로벌 시장 점유율은 6위 수준인 5.9%에 이르고 있다. 온라인 게임을 즐기고, 온라인 게임에 몰두하는 사람들이 늘어남에 따라, 온라인 게임의 폭력성에 대한 우려가 높아지고 있다. 1993년 Motal Kombat 비디오게임이 미국에서 등장 이후 폭력적 비디오게임이 전세계 게임시장을 지배해왔고 1999 년 4월 폭력적 비디오게임 Doom에 빠진 2명의 콜로라도 컬 럼바인 고등학생의 학내 총기난사 사건이 도화선이 되어 폭 력적 비디오게임에서의 공격성은 실제 생활에서 공격행동으 로 표출될 수 있다는 우려가 만연되기 시작하였다. 심지어 비폭력적 게임 역시 생리각성을 높이고 게임에 졌을 때 분노 폭발을 초래한다는 부정적 견해도 등장하였다. 최근 컴퓨터 기술의 발달로 인한 음향효과나 그래픽 선명 도의 향상은 게임을 더욱 사실적으로 묘사하여 가상과 현실 간의 간극이 점차 줄어들게 되었다. 또, 최근 몇 년 간 온라인 게임을 하던 사람들이 부모를 폭행하거나 존속살인을 저지 른 사건들이 발생하면서, 온라인 게임이 심각한 사회 폭력 문 제를 유발할 것이라는 시각이 당연히 받아들여지고 있다. 하지만 이런 예상들에 대한 과학적 근거는 아직 미비한 상 태이며 이에 대한 지속적인 연구가 진행되고 있다. 이에 본 연구팀은 현재까지 발표된 인터넷 비디오게임과 공격적 성 향에 관한 연구 결과를 중립적 시각에서 정리해 보았다." @default.
