- W1998512902 abstract "Ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy (UPS) and probe-hole thermal desorption spectrometry have been used to study the adsorption of water on two TiO2(001) surfaces: (i) Nearly perfect surface, 6% of Ti+3 point defects, and (ii) defective surface, 24% of Ti+3 point defects. As revealed by the intensities of the 3σ and 1π orbitals, water is dissociated into OH radicals. The coverage of 0.4 ML is the same in both surfaces.
