- W1998749068 abstract "Abstract A method was developed to determine solvent viscosity of several solvent mixtures, including glycerol/water, ethylene glycol/water and 1,2-propane diol/ethylene glycol, using fluorescent probes as reporter and time-resolved fluorescence anisotropy to measure modulation anisotropy ratios (MAR) as analytical signal, obtained in the frequency domain by the phase/modulation technique. The obtained results correlated well to a linear fit in the viscosities range 2.1–50 cP, with correlations coefficients ranging between 0.999 and 0.983. Detection limits depend on the fluorescent probe and on the solvents used to change viscosity, and values are within 17.1 and 2.1 cP. Three different fluorescent probes have been used, fluorescein, triamterene and furosemide, taking in mind that good quantum yield, minimum interaction between solvents and probe, different structure and functionality and polarity, can assess about the applicability of the probes in each type of mixture." @default.
