The Evans Blue method gave consistently higher estimates of cardiac output (277 ± 16 ml/kg per min) than the indocyanine green method (177 ± 11 ml/kg per min). 3. On a weight basis, the parathyroids received the highest blood flow (13·5 ml/g per min), possibly because they may include the carotid body.
