Biology of Fats XI: Lipids from the Blood-Serum of Normal and Pathologic Humans and from Tissues Affected with XanthomatosisThe lipids from the serum of healthy persons as well as of these suffering from hyperlipidemie, hypercholesterolemie and arteriosclerosis have been analysed. In case of hypercholesterolemie the lipids of a xanthomatic could also be examined. It has been possible to characterise lipid-changes during these three diseases. Thereby an unknown lipid has been found which probably belongs to the steroids. It appears specially in the serum of persons affected by these diseases and constituts the major portion of lipid ester of xanthomathics." @default.
