The important features of the data are a peak in $frac{1}{{T}_{1}}$ at 3ifmmode^circelsetextdegreefi{}K; and two peaks in the ferromagnetic-resonance linewidth at 20ifmmode^circelsetextdegreefi{} and 210ifmmode^circelsetextdegreefi{}K, respectively. The low-temperature phenomena are described in terms of a slow relaxation theory based on the low-lying orbital levels of the ${mathrm{Fe}}^{2+}$ impurities present; the peak in $frac{1}{{T}_{1}}$ occurring when ${ensuremath{omega}}_{N}ensuremath{tau}ensuremath{sim}1$ and the peak in $ensuremath{Delta}H$ occurring when ${ensuremath{omega}}_{0}ensuremath{tau}ensuremath{sim}1$ where ${ensuremath{omega}}_{N}$ and ${ensuremath{omega}}_{0}$ are the nuclear and ferromagnetic resonance frequencies, and $ensuremath{tau}$ is the relaxation time of the ${mathrm{Fe}}^{2+}$ impurities. The high-temperature linewidth is the result of a direct transition (via the spin-orbit interaction) between these levels with annihilation of a $k=0$ magnon, and becomes appreciable when ${ensuremath{omega}}_{1}ensuremath{tau}ensuremath{sim}1$ where $ensuremath{hbar}{ensuremath{omega}}_{1}$ is the separation between the low-lying orbital levels. Analysis of the low- and high-temperature data yield consistent values for the level separation, $ensuremath{hbar}{ensuremath{omega}}_{1}ensuremath{sim}10ifmmode^circelsetextdegreefi{}$K, and for the temperature dependence of $ensuremath{tau}$. At low temperatures $frac{1}{ensuremath{tau}}$ increases linearly with temperature suggesting a direct phonon or magnon relaxation process. Above 150ifmmode^circelsetextdegreefi{}K, $ensuremath{tau}$ is limited by the lifetime of the quasifree electron on a given Fe ion." @default.
