- W2000232015 abstract "Systemic immunomodulatory therapies have proven useful for the management of severe dermatologic disorders including psoriasis and atopic dermatitis (AD). Although children and adolescents have these disorders, little has been written in the dermatologic literature about the use of agents such as methotrexate (MTX), cyclosporine (CSA), and etanercept in the pediatric age group. Nonetheless, published data regarding the use of these agents in children exists, often in the rheumatologic literature, at the types of dosing ranges that have been or might be used for dermatologic disorders. Here we review the published literature on the pediatric usage of MTX, CSA, and etanercept that is of relevance in allowing dermatologists to gain comfort with the uses thereof in children and adolescents, and to assist in making more informed treatment decisions based on the risks versus benefits of each agent." @default.
