Le but de cette étude était de déterminer la concordance entre le diagnostic histologique de tuberculose et les constatations microbiologiques, et de montrer dans quelle mesure ces résultats affectent le traitement. Des relevés d'histopathologie et de microbiologie ont été étudiés de façon rétrospective. 89 cas ont été identifiés entre 1984 et 1988. 67% ont été diagnostiqués comme de nature tuberculeuse (TB) par les deux méthodes et 97% ont été diagnostiqués comme TB ou ‘compatibles avec la TB’ par histologie. Chez 7% de ces derniers le diagnostic final s'est avéré celui d'une maladie autre que la TB. 48% des patients diagnostiqués comme TB sur la base de l'histologie seule ont été traités pour la TB. 70% ont été diagnostiqués comme TB par microbiologie et ont suivi un traitement. Quand des échantillons appariés et convenables ont été envoyés aux deux services il y a eu une bonne concordance entre les histopathologistes et les microbiologistes. El objetivo de este estudio fue de poner en relación el diagnóstico histológico de la tuberculosis con los hallazgos microbiológicos e indicar la forma como estos resultados afectan el tratamiento. Los registros histopatológicos y microbiológicos fueron examinados retrospectivamente. Se identificaron 89 casos entre 1984 y 1988. El 67% fue diagnosticado como tuberculosis (TB) por ambos métodos, y el 97% fue diagnosticado como TB o ‘compatible con TB’ por el método histológico. En el 7% de éstos el diagnóstico final fue diferente al de tuberculosis. El 48% de los pacientes diagnosticados como TB en base a la histología sola fueron tratados como TB. El 70% fue diagnosticado como TB por microbiología y tratado como tal. Cuando se envió muestras apareadas y apropiadas a ambos departamentos, hubo un alto nivel de concordancia entre los histopatólogos y los microbiólogos.
