The authors chose to use Max-EPA (R. P. Scherer, Clearwater, Florida), eicosapentaenoic acid, as their source of omega-3 unsaturated fatty acids. Because each capsule may contain 5 mg of cholesterol, giving patients 18 capsules per day would provide them with 90 mg of cholesterol each day.
