- W2000352961 abstract "Acid lipase and acid phosphatase were assayed in whole liver homogenate of rats 30 min following in vivo administration of norepinephrine, epinephrine, glucagon and insulin. Glucagon induced the increase of acid lipase and phosphatase, and insulin induced a decrease of acid phosphatase activity. No significant changes were observed after the administration of catecholamines. Greater amounts of both enzymes were released from the lysosomal fraction suspended in hypotonie medium than from the fraction suspended in isotonic sucrose. In the latter medium, more assavable lipolytic and phosphatase activity was detected following the administration of glucagon. The lipolytic activity was also enhanced by glucagon added to the liver slices 10 min prior to homogenization. The corresponding increment was more consistent when the data were expressed as the percentage of the total enzymic activity released in hypotonic medium. The amount of the latter form of lipase was found diminished by glucagon. It is concluded that the release of lysosomal enzymes in the liver is hormone sensitive; the mechanism is discussed in terms of its possible messenger role of cyclic AMP." @default.
