- W2000381003 abstract "Lipoprotein lipase activity (LLA) appears in the blood after the injection of heparin (2). Furthermore, lipolytic activity with properties similar to LLA has been found in extracts from adipose tissue and heart muscle (3, 4, 5). Smaller amounts of lipolytic activity was found by Korn in the liver, Kidney, spleen and lung tissue of the rat (3). The activity found in the liver had to some extent similar properties as LLA (3). Barclay et al. (6) recently extracted lipolytic activity from the rat liver with qualities identical to LLA when tested against different inhibitors. On the other hand it has been reported that no LLA appears in the perfusate during in vitro perfusion of the rat liver with heparin (7, 8, 9). However, Lipolytic activity, not exhibiting the properties of LLA, was produced during such perfusions (8). In intact dogs the liver has been found to produce lipolytic activity in response to heparin (10). This activity was, however, not characterized. The production of lipolytic activity by the isolated perfused dog liver in vitro in response to heparin, as well as some properties of this activity, will be described in this paper." @default.
