- W2000497050 abstract "Magneto-optical and stress linear dichroism studies are made on the new F centre found in SrCl2 which belongs to Td symmetry group. The results have been analysed by the method of moments in order to determine a number of useful parameters. It is found that the excited state orbital Landé factor is close to zero. This is explained by taking into account an admixture of |p〉 and |d〉 type orbitals in the excited state. It is found that the spin—orbit splitting is about — 100 cm−1. A careful analysis of higher order moments of the magnetic circular dichroism and stress linear dichroism curves leads to a determination of the dynamic electron lattice coupling parameters which can in turn be compared to the static parameters determined from the first order moment of the stress linear dichroism curves. The dynamic electron lattice interaction is predominantly due to a trigonal vibrational mode whose mean frequency is about 100 cm−1. Nous reportons nos mesures de dichrolsme circulaire magnétique et de dichrolsme linéaire sous contrainte du centre F dans SrCl2. Les résultats sont analysés par la methode des moments. La constante de couplage spin—orbite dans l'état excite vaut —100 cm−1 et le facteur de Landé orbital de cet état est proche de zéro. Nous expliquons ce dernier résultat en considérant le mélange d'orbitales de type |p〉 et |d〉 en symëtrie tétraédrique. L'analyse des moments d'ordre supérieur des courbes de dichrolsme circulaire et linéaire permet de déterminer les paramètres de couplage dynamique électron-réseau qui sont ensuite comparés aux paramétres statiques trouvés à partir du moment d'ordre un des courbes de dichroïsme linéaire. L'interaction dynamique électron-réseau est due essentiellement à un mode do couplage trigonal de fréquence voisine de 100 cm−1." @default.
