The oxygen content values suggest that cobalt and manganese are trivalent and tetravalent, respectively. The background state of these samples is insulating antiferromagnetic with TN values beyond 350 K. After annealing under oxygen pressure (10 MPa), the oxygen content is significantly increased for y⩽0.1, which indicates that the metal cations are more oxidized. Accordingly, ferromagnetic metallic samples are obtained for y=0.05–0.10 in the SrCo1−yMnyO3−δ series, with TC up to 150 K. Nonetheless, for larger Mn content, the oxygen uptake is limited and no ferromagnetism is induced. Negative magnetoresistance is measured for the ferromagnetic samples." @default.
