- W2000701781 abstract "The magnetic structure of epitaxial vanadium/gadolinium bilayers with different V thickness has been studied using polarized neutron reflectivity and magnetization measurements. The polarized neutron reflectivity results show that in the fully magnetized state of $mathrm{V}∕mathrm{Gd}$ bilayer about three to five monolayers of V become magnetic with a mean magnetic moment of around $0.8phantom{rule{0.3em}{0ex}}{ensuremath{mu}}_{mathrm{B}}$/atom. The V slab is antiferromagnetically aligned with the Gd layer. From magnetization measurements it has been found that the Curie temperature of the $mathrm{V}∕mathrm{Gd}$ system is increased by $74phantom{rule{0.3em}{0ex}}mathrm{K}$ in comparison to that of a Gd layer without vanadium." @default.
