Results of the photoinduced transmission measurement for series of samples with different thicknesses of undoped or doped layers can be well explained by a model in which an internal electric field is screened under illumination by spatial separation of photoexcited electrons and holes, leading to a decrease in the optical-absorption coefficient as a result of photoinduced inverse electroabsorption. It can be confirmed through these optical measurements that spatial separation of photoexcited carriers takes place at room temperature in amorphous n-i-p-i multilayers based on hydrogenated amorphous silicon." @default.
