Die Methode der Kraft–Kraft-Korrelationsfunktionen wird verwendet, um eine praktikable Näherungsformel für den elektrischen Widerstand von ungeordneten binären Legierungen herzuleiten, die über die Näherung der schwachen Streuung hinaus gültig ist. Im Rahmen einer Ein-Elektron-Version wird der Widerstand in Abhängigkeit vom totalen Streuoperator T berechnet. Die lokale Näherung wird eingeführt, indem der T-Operator durch die atomaren t-Matrizen ersetzt wird. Korrekturen durch Vielfachstreuung mit kurzer Reichweite ergeben sich unter Verwendung einer nicht-selbstkonsistenten Näherung der gemittelten t-Matrix. Damit können Übergangsmetall-Legierungen im Rahmen des „muffin-tin”︁-Modells behandelt werden.
