- W2000953010 abstract "Nano-TiO2 thin films were deposited on silicon and quartz substrates by RF magnetron sputtering and annealed in ambient air for 1 h at 200, 400, 600, 800, 900, 950, 1000, and 1200 °C, respectively. Their crystal structure, composition, surface topography, and hydrophilicity were characterized by X-ray diffractometer, X-ray photoelectron spectrometer, atomic force microscope, and water contact angle apparatus. It was found that samples un-annealed and annealed at 200 °C are amorphous and show poor hydrophilicity. Annealed at 400 °C, anatase phase appears. At 600 °C, rutile phase appears. At 1000 °C, anatase phase changes into rutile phase completely, and there is Ti3+ in the TiO2 thin films. With increasing rutile phase, the hydrophilicity enhances. The mixture of anatase and rutile (about 13% mass fraction for anatase phase) may induce optimal hydrophilicity." @default.
