- W2000993465 abstract "Abstract Differential scattering cross sections for natural Ti, 51V, Cr, 75As, Se, 89Y, Cd, In and Sn have been measured at θ = 150° using a bremsstrahlung photon beam of 32 MeV maximum energy. From angular distribution measurements we extract the inelastic scattering cross sections, which proves the existence of a tensor polarizability for vibrational spherical nuclei. General agreement is found with the predictions of the dynamic collective model calculations. The influence of the mean square quadrupole amplitude β on the shape of the giant resonance and on the strength of the inelastic scattering is shown. Some parameters are discussed and we give a better estimate of the giant dipole states width. Discrepancies around 21 MeV for the lighter nuclei and for 89Y are interpreted as evidence for isobaric spin splitting of the giant dipole resonance." @default.
