- W2001097247 abstract "Deconvolution of experimental time-dependent intensities represents a necessary part of the process of extracting information at molecular level from single-photon fluorescence decay measurements. The problem is particularly complicated in analyzing polarization anisotropy data in liquid crystals or membranes, where the emission intensities modulated by reorientation are not simple exponentials. In the present paper a non-linear least-squares-fit approach where theoretical intensities are calculated via a fast Fourier transform method is described. The approach is particularly convenient when non-exponential decay curves are expected. Applications to the direct fit of experimental intensities from liquid crystals and vesicles to order parameters and rotational diffusion coefficients is discussed in detail. The method is tested as usual with simulated decay curves." @default.
