Both inductive Ω-shaped perturbations in DMRR and DMDRR (Dual-Mode Double Ring Resonator) are studied to improve the performance of the conventional DMRR and DMDRR. Significant size reductions over 56 and 10% are achieved at dual-band 1.13 and 2.11 GHz, respectively. To obtain a lower insertion loss (2.49/0.75 dB), higher rejection (−19.93/−16.41 dB), and wider bandwidth (about 4.82/16.45%) responses, the miniaturized DMDRR filter are presented. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
