- W2002162092 abstract "Abstract The variation of the transition temperature T n with n , the number of copper oxide layers per unit cell, is studied in the various series of layered HTSCs. A phenomenological model incorporating the interactions of adjacent and alternate CuO layers is used. The model is then extended to include the interactions of all layers within a unit cell. While the T n vs. n trend is significantly modified in comparison to that of the nearest-neighbour interaction model, the observed non-monotonicity of the transition temperature is not explained. Finally, an entirely new two-order parameter model is presented which explains the experimentally observed maximum of T n with n for the TlBa 2 Ca n −1 Cu n O 2 n +3 and Tl 2 Ba 2 Ca n −1 Cu n O 2 n +4 series. In addition, the trend of T n for TlBa 2 CaCu 2 O 7−δ as a function of the oxygen vacancy as predicted by this model agrees well with experiment." @default.
