- W2002162279 abstract "Precise and accurate measurements of molar magnetic susceptibility (χm) have been carried out as a function of temperature (T) for the following well-characterized titanium oxides: Ti3O5, Ti4O7, Ti5O9, Ti6O11, Ti8O15 and Ti10O19 to permit a statistical analysis to within 99.9% confidence limits. The data have been fitted to the Curie-Weiss law, χm = C(T+θ) + A, using a nonlinear least squares curve fitting procedure. From this the best values of the Curie constant (C), the Curie-Weiss constant (θ) and the temperature independent term (A) were determined. These parameters have been used to calculate the effective magnetic moment (μeff) for each oxide. With the exception of Ti10O19, the calculated μeff was less than the theoretical “spin-only” value expected from stoichiometry. This has been attributed to exchange interactions (among localized electrons) and to the presence of large temperature-independent terms (arising from delocalized electrons)." @default.
