In the hyperuricemic group a slightly elevated PRPP synthetase activity was observed, but there was a small decrease of the PRPP concentration. The transketolase activity was also slightly lower in the hyperuricemics. One hyperuricemic male was detected to have a partial APRT deficiency, and three were found to have elevated ADA activities. In all these cases an increased familial incidence of the abnormal enzyme activity was found. No HGPRT deficiency or PRPP synthetase hyperactivity was detected." @default.
