In the present paper, results of experimental and theoretical investigations of the MCE in heavy rare earth metals and their alloys are presented. The efficiency of using these materials as magnetic refrigerants is explored in low temperature (T ≲ 20 K) as well as liquid nitrogen and room temperature regions.
