- W2003131494 abstract "The interaction of laser beams with biological tissues has been remained a concerned issue. Methods for high energy laser safety analysis without using animals are an important bridge between experiment and theory because of the huge amount of variety for laser parameters and tissue types. Therefore, the feasibility of using tissue-equivalent materials to study laser-tissue interaction effects was investigated in this paper. Laser beams from different laser devices were hit on the samples made by a kind of tissue-equivalent material. The drilling effect and thermal effect showed that it was possible to use the tissue substitute to simulate the interaction between laser beams and tissues. In the mean time, there were refining requirements raised both on the optic set-up for laser beams and the substitute material." @default.
