- W2003630944 abstract "Some examples are given to illustrate that the use of model reactions of iron-porphyrins facilitates interpretation of cytochrome P 450 reactions important in pharmacology or toxicology — Various nitrosoalkanes-Fe(II)-porphyrin complexes have been isolated. Their formation confirms the previously proposed structure of the 455 nm absorbing cytochrome P 450 complexes derived from various amines and hydroxylamines. The stability of their Fe-RNO bond explains the inhibition of cytochrome P 450 engaged in the 455 nm absorbing complexes. — The oxygenating cytochrome P 450 complex transforms chloroform into phosgene, the reactivity of which may explain most of the results concerning the toxicity of chloroform. — Carbene-iron (II)-porphyrin complexes have been isolated and characterized after in situ reduction of various polyhalogenated compounds, confirming the previously proposed formation of the corresponding cytochrome P 450-Fe(II)-carbene complexes. Their importance in the mechanism of toxicity of polyhalogenated compounds, like carbon tetrachloride, is discussed. — The high-affinity of the ellipticines for cytochrome P 450 allows to anticipate their inhibitory effects on the mutagenesis induced by various chemicals." @default.
