- W2004024921 abstract "The role of psychogenic factors in skin diseases is emphasized. Emotional problems present in 45% to 78.5% of dermatological patients are best managed by a combined dermatological-psychiatric approach. Dermatologists might be inclined to treat such problems as members of a dermatological-psychiatric team. Such a team is now operating a Department of Psychocutaneous Medicine in the dermatology OPD of a large general hospital. The training in basic psychiatry of the dermatologist member of the team is described and evaluated. Such indoctrination is recommended for dermatologists interested in and suited for dermatologic-psychiatric work. The advantages and disadvantages of such methodology are discussed." @default.
