- W2004306517 abstract "Ag–TiO2–Ag core–shell–satellite nanowires were fabricated by hydrothermal growth and post-growth thermal annealing. After annealed at 600 °C for 8 h, core–shell Ag–TiO2 nanowires evolved into core–shell–satellite nanowires, with crystalline Ag core, shell layer of crystalline TiO2 and isolated Ag particles scattering on the shell‐like satellites. The morphologies, microstructures, absorption properties, and photocatalytic activities of the resultant nanostructures were investigated. Ag–TiO2–Ag core–shell–satellite nanowires showed remarkable enhancement of photocatalytic activity, in comparison with the pristine Ag–TiO2 nanowires, and the crystalline TiO2 component in core–shell–satellite nanowires. The enhancement could be attributed to both the enhancement of photon absorptions induced by core–shell–satellite morphology and the improvement of TiO2 crystallinity induced by annealing." @default.
