- W2004481617 abstract "Effects of annealing on Vickers microhardness, density, grain size and electrical resistance were studied on nanocrystalline Au specimens prepared by the gas deposition method. During annealing, grain growth was not detected up to the annealing at 900K for 1 min. Most prominent was a change in microhardness, it increased gradually, reached a maximum after the 900K annealing and then decreased rapidly after higher temperature annealings. The maximum hardness attained in one specimen was about 10 times higher than that of coarse-grained Au. This suggests that the grains are perfect crystals or contain only dislocations which can not contribute to deformation. On the other hand, high thermal stability of the present specimens would be attributed to the high density of pores containning He gas." @default.
