- W2004648278 abstract "The phase inversion process is one of the most widely used methods in the preparation of synthetic polymeric membranes for reverse osmosis, ultra- and nanofiltration. In this paper the phase inversion process is proposed as an application method for organic polymers such as coatings and consolidants, or to form films to protect ceramic during the filling and casting of missing parts. This method makes it possible to control the porosity of the protective film. The phase transition or demixing phenomena on which phase inversion is based are explained using a phase diagram (polymer–solvent–nonsolvent). Four commercial products—Imedio Banda Azul cellulose nitrate, Paraloid B72 acrylic resin, Ultrason S2010 polysulphone and Uitrason E2010 poly(ethersulphone)—have been applied by the phase inversion method and the resulting films have been examined by cryo-SEM." @default.
