- W2004658238 abstract "Ce travail sur l'Oligo-Miocène tunisien sous ses faciès “Fortuna, Numidien et Gréso-micacé”, apporte des précisions sur la dynamique sédimentaire de ces trois ensembles détritiques, ainsi que sur le sens des apports. La formation Fortuna, à caractère fluvio-deltaique bordée par des dépôts marins littoraux à lagunaires, se scinde en deux mégaséquences régressives. La limite séparant ces deux dernières est corrélable avec la discontinuité correspondant à la chute du niveau moyen des mers entre le Stampien et le Chattien à l'échelle du globe. Le Numidien, représente également une mégaséquence progradante correspondant à un matériel de cône profond sous marin (chenaux très puissants, “mass flow”, “slumps”, turbidites et fluxoturbidites). Le “Gréso-micacé” de la Galite, riche en muscovite et en feldspath, s'organise en un ensemble formé par presqu'exclusivement des slumps et de blocs éboulés ainsi que par des turbidites proximales. Quant à la source des apports, elle est méridionale pour la formation Fortuna, septentrionale pour le Numidien et occidentale pour le “Gréso-micacé” de la Galite. The Oligo-Miocene outcrops spread over a large part of Central and Northern Tunisia; from South to North, one can find: 1) the deltaic complex of Fortuna Formation: It consists of a deltaic complex which is basically formed by clayey sandstones with some marine intercalations. This complex progrades from W and S-W to N-E. Vertically it appears as a regressive megasequence which is divided in two large regressive sequences each one having its own deltaic system, the upper one shows a clear progression of the fluvial channels on the sediments of the deltaic plain, all of which progrades on the prodeltaic beds; 2) the Numidian flysch: occurring as a relatively regressive megasequence, the Numidian flysch shows in most of surveyed sections the superposition of a proximal material (inner fan) with undersea channels, grain flow, slumps, flux and proximal turbidites (Ta-e) on a relatively deeper and lobed material with distal turbidites (middle fan). The drifts go to N150–N200 and have a tendency to move from the North southwards; 3) The micaceous sandstones and marly limestones of Galite Island: on this island, the sedimentary series shows a fine sandstone, sometimes coarse with quartz pebbles, very rich in muscovite and feldspath, intercalated within a clayey and carbonate series. From the dynamic point of view it consists of a proximal part of deep sea fan (Inner fan) joined by gritty and carbonate proximal turbidites almost exclusively slump of very changeable sizes." @default.
