We were disturbed that the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation was not included in the issue. Physical medicine and rehabilitation is a dynamic and rapidly growing specialty. For example, the Graduate Medical Education National Advisory Committee recently predicted a need for 4060 physiatrists by 1990. To meet this demand there will need to be a doubling in the number of practicing physiatrists during the next four years (<i>Am Med News</i>, July 17,1987).
