- W2005013487 abstract "In high-resolution electron microscopy of complex crystals their “substructures” can be selectively imaged in different ways. The conditions governing this selective imaging are discussed. A new method, applicable to intergrowth crystal structures, which are built on two distinct sublattices, is discussed in detail. The method is based on the use of well-separated homologous reciprocal lattice sections, enclosing a small angle only, for the imaging of each substructure at a time. The spatial relationship between the two substructures can be obtained by using a section commen to both reciprocal sublattices. The phenomena of selective imaging can be understood in terms of real-space channeling of electrons along dense atomic columns." @default.
