- W2005486535 abstract "The current argument delivers an integrated substitutability-based appraisal of the frontier of the production possibility set: in a two goods world, the elasticity of substitution between the aggregate values of the inputs emerges as a weighted sum of the sectoral values of the elasticities of substitution of the production technologies. This aggregate inputs substitutability measure relates in a linear way to the elasticity of substitution between the outputs. This conception is subsequently embedded within an infinite horizon two goods structure that assumes an extra preference-orientated arbitrage between a pure consumption good and a composite good that can be consumed or accumulated. A clue result of this examination formulates as the uniform holding of the saddlepoint property as long as both income elasticities are of positive sign and the elasticity of substitution between the aggregate values of the inputs—equivalently, the elasticity of substitution between the outputs—or the dual elasticity of substitution between the two consumptions is sufficiently large. In the outstanding equilibrium configurations, an area for optimal cycles remains when a greater profit share in the composite good industry comes together with a negative income elasticity for the pure consumption good." @default.
