- W2005503874 abstract "Abstract The draw ratio in conventional redrawing of cups is limited, several redrawing steps being needed to obtain very deep cups. To reduce the number of stages of redrawing, the redraw ratio may be increased with the aid of hydraulic pressure. An axial push exerted by the hydraulic pressure on the brim of the cup being redrawn can be used to augment the punch force. With sufficiently high hydraulic pressure, the tensile stress on the wall of the redrawn cup can be reduced. Alternatively, a larger redraw ratio can be achieved by allowing the cup wall to attain a higher value of stress, closer to the tensile limit. Experiments on redrawing with the aid of hydraulic pressure conducted earlier using tooling where the blank holder force was applied mechanically, lead to the present refined tooling. In the present tooling an independent hydraulic pressure supply applies the blank holder force, whilst hydraulic pressure to augment the punch force is generated separately, in this way some control of the blank-holder force being achieved. Results from investigations on redrawing conducted with the present tooling are reported and discussed." @default.
