- W2005604665 abstract "Abstract Effective two-body interactions are obtained from three realistic nucleon-nucleon potentials with different core structures by the unitary-model operator method, and applications made to the ground state properties of doubly even N = Z nuclei by Hartree-Fock techniques. Structure calculations include determination of ground state binding energies, radii, energy levels for the single-particle states and deformations for the nuclei 16 O, 20 Ne, 24 Mg, 28 Si, 32 S, and 40 Ca. It is found that the binding is strongly dependent on the choice of the 3 S 1 healing distance for both the Yale and Reid effective two-body interactions. By varying this parameter, quantitative agreement for the binding with the experimental values can be achieved. The deformations found are smaller than empirically expected but are qualitatively correct." @default.
