- W2005622605 abstract "Angular and velocity distributions of Ar scattered from CO2 have been measured for the three collision energies: 0.069 eV, 0.11 eV and 0.19 eV. The analysis of the data provides primarily continuous differential energy transfer cross sections in the center-of-mass coordinate system. These cross sections are converted to detailed differential cross sections for angular momentum transfer. Their asymmetry with respect to ϑ = 90° suggests a direct excitation mechanism. The detailed integral cross sections are of the order of 1 A2 even at amounts of transferred energy close to 100% of the collision energy. A classical trajectory calculation for a simple model potential is carried out. The results simulate qualitatively, partially even quantitatively, the experimental data. The detailed integral cross sections are found to be very sensitive to the anisotropy of the repulsive potential branch. Good agreement between the experimental and calculated integral cross sections is obtained for a geometric anisotropy of A0 = 0.42." @default.
