- W2006048694 abstract "Preparation of Sm 2+ -doped borate glasses for persistent spectral hole burning is studied experimentally. The influence of different metallic reducing agents on the reduction of Sm 3+ to Sm 2+ in borate glasses is discussed as well as the influence of phase separation in borosilicate glasses on the spectroscopic properties of Sm 2+ ions. In Tb 3+ -doped silicate and borate glasses we demonstrate persistent spectral hole burning in the 7 F 6 – 5 D 4 excitation line at temperatures below 50 K. The hole-burning properties and mechanism are discussed." @default.
