- W2006367744 abstract "Abstract The statistically linearised equations of motions of a railroad freight vehicle under stochastic track input derived in Part I are solved iteratively in this paper. The steady state solution for the instantaneous covariance matrix of the overall vehicle state equations is found to be in the form of Lyapunov's equation and is solved numerically. The mean square rocking response and its power spectral density compare favourably with the deterministic results obtained from the previous investigation and from available field data. The multivariable optimisation technique is employed to minimise the value of the car rocking power spectral density response over the critical frequency range of interest. The optimum suspension parameters are presented in different forms either for an existing or for a stabilised vehicle configuration to improve vehicle performance." @default.
