- W2006491808 abstract "Abstract By changing the thermal prehistory of oriented and non-oriented films of PTFE by an acoustic method the authors established the influence of the morphology of the films on the degree of change in their crystallinity on electron treatment. Annealing and quenching these films lead, on the one hand, to appreciable change in morphology and, on the other, to change in their radiation resistance. The reason for such behaviour is the appearance of overstressed skeletal bonds and imperfections in the form of microcracks and also increase in the concentration of the conformational defects with higher energy. All these factors from the standpoint of the Tsuda theory must reduce the size of the potential barrier required for rupture of the bond on irradiation." @default.
