- W2006531137 abstract "To investigate the parameters that characterize women who had chemical pregnancy after IVF, to evaluate their chances to obtain a live birth in subsequent pregnancies. A retrospective analysis which included all the chemical pregnancies achieved between 1999 and 2012 after IVF. Out of 6,183 fresh cycles using GnRH agonist or antagonist and gonadotropins for ovarian stimulation with luteal support with either progesterone or both estrogen and progesterone and 1,310 FET (frozen/thawed embryo transfer) cycles, using either estrogen and progesterone only to induce endometrial receptivity or after down regulation with GnRH agonist, 274 IVF cycles concluded in chemical pregnancies. Data regarding demographic, gynecologic, obstetric, infertility and IVF parameters were collected. Out of 274 IVF chemical pregnancies, 60 (21.9%) cycles were recurrent IVF cases. Seventy three chemical pregnancies (26.6%) were a result of FET. Among those who achieved a chemical pregnancy the chance for another pregnancy either spontaneous, or by ART was: 74.5%, 46.3%, 25% for the ages: <35, 35-40, >40 respectively, P<0.001, and for live birth: 59.3%, 24.1%, 0% respectively, P<0.001. Among fresh cycles, 68.7% will achieve a pregnancy, 53.2% will deliver, while among FET cycles in the future, 58.9% will achieve a pregnancy and 37% will deliver P=0.017.The women who achieved a live birth after the current chemical pregnancy were at an average age of 29.85 years, in comparison to those who didn't achieve a live birth, 32.86 years, P<0.001. The mean value of hCG of the chemical pregnancy was 81.91±235.89 versus 243.18±520.18 mIU/mL, P=0.012, mean value of progesterone 50.27±105 versus 23.5±23.3 ng/mL, P=0.001, and mean value of estradiol 219.58±157.84 versus 186.21±88.80 pgl/mL, P< 0.001 for fresh cycle and FET respectively. Occurrence of a chemical pregnancy after IVF is encouraging, and might be a positive predictor for a subsequent live birth, especially in women under the age of 35." @default.
