The experiments were performed by tuning the incident energy to the Nd ${mathit{L}}_{mathrm{I}}$, ${mathit{L}}_{mathrm{II}}$, and ${mathit{L}}_{mathrm{III}}$ absorption edges. The largest count rates, up to 300 counts per second, were obtained at the ${mathit{L}}_{mathrm{II}}$ edge. Antiferromagnetic long-range order is seen below ${mathit{T}}_{mathrm{Nd}}$=37 K. Polarization analysis confirms that the scattering is magnetic in origin and consistent with a dipole excitation, suggesting that the Nd 5d bands are polarized." @default.
