- W2008321531 abstract "Eighty-four calves with respiratory disease from 18 herds in different parts of Finland were chosen for a study evaluating the capacity of different respiratory pathogens to cause changes in different acute phase protein concentrations, white blood cell (WBC) count and clinical signs. The selected acute phase proteins were fibrinogen, haptoglobin, serum amyloid-A, lipopolysaccharide binding protein and α1-acid glycoprotein. From each calf, a paired blood sample was obtained for serological studies of bovine parainfluenza virus-3, bovine respiratory syncytial virus, bovine coronavirus, bovine adenovirus-3 and bovine adenovirus-7. Tracheobronchial lavage was performed to detect bacteria and mycoplasma. Isolation of Pasteurella multocida was associated with increased concentrations of all tested acute phase proteins. For other pathogens, no significant relationships were observed. No association was present between viral or bacterial findings and WBC count. Quatre-vingt-quatre veaux présentant une maladie respiratoire provenant de 18 troupeaux dans différentes parties de la Finlande ont été choisis pour étudier la capacité de pathogènes respiratoires différents à entraîner des changements dans différentes concentrations de protéines de phase aiguë, dans le taux de globules blancs et les signes cliniques. Les protéines de phase aiguë sélectionnées étaient le fibrinogène, l’haptoglobine, le sérum amyloïde-A, la protéine liant la lipopolysaccharide et l’α1-acide glycoprotéine. Une prise de sang appareillée a été effectuée sur chaque veau pour des études sérologiques du virus parainfluenza bovine 3, le virus syncytial respiratoire bovin, le coronavirus bovin, l’adénovirus bovin 3 et l’adénovirus bovin 7. Un lavage trachéobronchial a été effectué pour détecter des bactéries et des mycoplasmes. L’isolation de Pasteurella multocida a été associée avec des concentrations accrues de toutes les protéines de phase aiguë testées. Pour d’autres pathogènes, aucune relation significative n’a été observée. Aucune association entre les découvertes virales ou bactériennes et le taux de globules blancs n’a été trouvée." @default.
