- W2008381269 abstract "Optical absorption of CaF2 single crystals is studied in the wavelength region 200 to 700 nm after they are subjected to high electric fields (ac or dc) and later X-ray irradiated; the thermoluminescence (TL) of these samples is also investigated. The lattice defect concentration in the samples subjected to high electric fields is found to increase appreciably. When the field-treated crystals are later irradiated with X-rays two absorption bands with peaks at 375 and 580 nm are produced; these are attributed to the F- and β-bands (due to colloidal centres), respectively. The thermoluminescence light output given out by these samples is larger. It is found that ac field treatment brings about larger changes in optical absorption and TL light output compared to similar dc fields. Partial thermal bleaching experiments carried out on the absorption bands indicate that there is no correlation between their destruction and thermoluminescence. An attempt is made to understand these results. Im Wellenlängenbereich 200 bis 700 nm wird die optische Absorption von CaF2-Einkristallen untersucht, nachdem sie höheren elektrischen Feldern ausgesetzt (ac oder dc) und später röntgenbestrahlt werden; die Thermolumineszenz (TL) dieser Proben wird ebenfalls untersucht. Es wird gefunden, daß die Gitterdefektkonzentration in den den hohen elektrischen Feldern ausgesetzten Proben beträchtlich ansteigt. Wenn die feldbehandelten Kristalle später mit Röntgenstrahlen behandelt werden, werden zwei Absorptionsbanden mit Maxima bei 375 und 580 nm hervorgerufen; diese werden der F- bzw. β-Bande (infolge Kolloidzentren) zugeordnet. Die Thermolumineszenz lichtausbeute dieser Proben ist größer. Es wird gefunden, daß eine Wechselfeldbehandlung größere Änderungen in der optischen Absorption und TL-Lichtausbeute im Vergleich zu ähnlichen Gleichfeldern hervorbringt. Experimente des partiellen thermischen Bleichens an den Absorptionsbanden zeigen, daß keine Korrelation zwischen ihrer Zerstörung und Thermolumineszenz besteht. Ein Versuch wird unternommen, diese Ergebnisse zu verstehen." @default.
