The activity of the catalyst and the reactivity of the coke were found to be dependent upon the anion of the salt and optical texture of the coke. Potassium metal may be produced in situ in the gasification reactions and has a significant role in the mechanism of catalytic gasification. The reactivity of a coke and its performance in a blast furnace must be associated both with extents of gasification and development of pits and fissures which could promote a weakening of the coke." @default.
