- W2008666980 abstract "A study was made of the effect of heat-treatment in the case of membranes cast from Loeb acetone-water-salt dopes. An almost linear relationship is observed between the water fluxes of annealed membranes and corresponding unheated membranes. Besides, the effectiveness of heat treatment is higher as the flow rate of unheated membrane is greater. Experiments using differential spectrophotometry and viscosity established that the efficiency of heat treatment might be correlated with the hydration of cellulose diacetate chains in the unheated membrane. During the coagulation step the formation of inter- and intramolecular hydrogen bonds by means of water molecules is discussed in relation to the nature of the inorganic salt added to the casting solution." @default.
