- W2008705054 abstract "Transepithelial elimination (TE), a dermatologic process first described in detail by Mehregan 1 in 1968, is being reported with increasing frequency. We recently encountered a case of cutaneous macular amyloidosis that histologically exhibited the features of TE. Amyloidosis associated with TE was first recorded by Freudenthal 2 in 1930 and later by Anekoji 3 in 1961. To our knowledge, no subsequent cases involving amyloid and TE have been reported. Report of a Case A 48-year-old man was seen because of a hyperpigmented, slightly pruritic rash of ten years' duration on his back. Physical examination revealed brown and gray papules on the back. In some areas, the papules were confluent, forming a pebble-grain appearance." @default.
