Our paper presents a unified theory of irradiation and thermal creep by dislocation climb, in the presence of cavities. The dynamics of the network dislocation development is represented and, as we show, this provides the essential coupling between the irradiation and thermally activated creep processes. This climb creep model uses the effective medium approach to describe the sink strengths for a rate theory of point defect absorption, and rate equations are derived for the evolving dislocation structure from simple microscopic models of dislocation generation and annihilation." @default.
