- W2009016600 abstract "There is growing consensus today that the Swedish model is in serious trouble. In attempting to explain this development, however, most studies tend to focus on a particular aspect of the model — such as collective bargaining or a specific welfare program — rather than on the totality of interrelated policy instruments and strategies that comprise it. The present study has three goals: I) to provide a more inclusive account of the Swedish model, focusing on both the “industrial relations” and “social policy/social planning” components of the model; 2) to detail recent changes to the model; and 3) to provide an account of the unraveling of the model in the 1980s and 1990s and determine its chances for survival into the next millennium." @default.
